Since September of 2008 a mystery illness has struck the UK after the HPV jab Cervarix was implemented in a school vaccine program.
It has been reported in the UK Mail Online that 1,340 reports have been filed coincidentally
after the HPV vaccine Cervarix was implemented in September. This mystery illness
causes Paralysis, Convulsions, Sight problems, Nausea, Muscle Weakness, Fever, Dizziness
and Numbness, Bell's palsy, Hypoesthesia (loss of sense of touch) and Guillain-
The form arrived from school asking for our consent to allow our daughter, aged 14 to have the Cervarix jab. What responsible parent wouldn’t want the best for their child, and if it gives protection against cervical cancer, surely it’s a no brainer.
After a bit of thought, alarm bells started ringing. She isn’t in a high risk catagory, there isn’t a family history, why inject her with a new drug with no long term track record.
A gut instinct told us to say no.
Out of her whole year group, only 2 girls opted out.
Having now researched it, I am so glad we acted on our gut feelings.
I’m not saying don’t do it, just do research & look at the options, don’t simply believe what you are told.
Who knows what effect it could have in 10 years?
